NEW!! AS OF 01 MAR 2022, UPDATE: MASK GUIDANCE FOR DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE FACILITIES.  In accordance with CDC guidance, the Department of Defense (DOD) requires all Service members, Federal employees, onsite contractor employees, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, to wear SURGICAL MASKS in all indoor Medical Treatment Facilities. The Radiology Department at the North Severn clinic will be secured on 11 March 2022 from 0730-1600 in order to perform required preventative maintenance of our unit.

WALK-IN TESTING: For our symptomatic beneficiaries enrolled to NHC Annapolis who need COVID-19 testing, please come to the Naval Health Clinic Annapolis between the hours of 0800-1130 and 1300- 1400 Monday thru Friday (NOTE: clinic is closed on Federal Holidays). Health Promotion

The Naval Health Clinic Annapolis has received the Navy Surgeon General’s Blue H Award three years in a row. This the highest level award for health promotion and wellness in the Navy and Marine Corps.

Health Promotion / Wellness is the process of enabling people to increase control over their health. Positive lifestyle and behavioral changes can improve health and enhance quality of life, which for us translates into better operational readiness and increased retention of valuable personnel.

Individual and Group Services Offered:

Ship Shape

This is an evidence-based behavioral health program, designed for Active Duty individuals who exceed or are in danger of exceeding Navy Body Composition Assessment (BCA) standards. Beneficiaries are also welcome to attend. Participants will learn strategies to eat healthier, overcome emotional barriers & increase their physical fitness levels.  This 8 week class is offered three times annually and meets weekly. Ship Shape is also open to beneficiaries and GS Civilian staff on a Space A basis. Ship Shape can also be held at your command upon request with groups of ten or more.

Tobacco Cessation

This program is for individuals who are ready to commit to a tobacco free lifestyle.  Support is provided to assist  participants through nicotine withdrawal and behavior modification.   Medications that assist in this process are reviewed and prescribed as indicated. 

Food, Fitness, Healthy Heart

A one hour class that discusses the principles of healthy eating, the importance of moving the body and the health and heart connection. My Plate is explored along with review of macro and micro nutrient sources,         importance of  fiber, meal planning, hydration and physical activity. Cardiac risk factors are identified, methods of modification discussed, and lab values reviewed.

Lunch N Learns

Lunch N Learns are held at the clinic at 1200 on a variety of topics led by experts in their respected fields. Some of our past Lunch N Learns included the topics of Nutrition, Weight Management, TBI, Podiatry, and Fitness over Forty. Call the HPW clinic for information on our next Lunch N Learn.
